Been looking for the best pizza in York County, so we gave this place a try over the weekend. It's got a decent pizza (good crust, decent cheese, and okay sauce). No complaints, and we'll keep it mind for future visits. We also split a large salad, which was very good. They used Romaine lettuce, and it came with meats & olives. It was a very good salad. But while we were getting our pizza, they served up some sandwiches to another customer seated nearby, and they looked very good. Good enough that I now want to go back to try their sandwiches. They bake their own bread, and I've had sandwiches like this at other pizza places. Unfortunately, several of those have closed down, so I've been trying to find a new sandwich shop, and this may be a good option. I'll be back to give it a try.

I wasn't a huge fan of the chicken cheese steak, though I was told by staff that it was a best seller (taste of mayo overpowered the sandwich, could barely appreciate the cheese). Also had a slice of cheese pizza; it was alright, it was reheated so the already thin crust was kind of a burnt crispy, but the rest of the pizza slice was good. I would go there again, and hope to give a better rating when I do.

You just can't get a sub like this out here in CO. There's really no where I've even seen a cheeseburger sub on the menu other than All V's, see review, complete flop. Central Pizza serves up some of the best subs I've ever had. I hit them up each visit back to the mother land. It's all about the bread, and that's Central Pizza's nitch. The buns are handmade from the dough they use for pizza's. The buns have a nice crunchy outside and a warm, doughy inside. The buns have the right amount of bread, not too much and not too little. Sometimes I find myself pulling off chunks of the bun because it's just too much, but not the case here. When I get to the part of my sub where the meat is all gone, I eat it to the last bite with just mayo, lettuce, and tomato! Even that tastes delish! I've been going to Central since I was a little girl, hung out there in high school, and so happy to see it's still going strong. I really hope it keeps it up because I can't tell you how much I look forward to eating here when I get back. It's so funny to get excited over a sub, but once you realize how good something is & that it's nearly impossible to find something that compares, it makes sense. Everything else on the menu is great too, pizza, salads, apps...but trust me, what you want is a sub, the cheeseburger sub! The Italian is my runner up!

A hidden gem. I've been going to Central since I was a little kid in 83! Nothing much has changed. You do a good job, produce an excellent product, and stick with it! The folks are always friendly and the homemade sub bread is incredible. The prices are a bit on the high side, but you are getting quality food that you will enjoy and is consistently good. I love their neopolitan pizza. My family always jokingly recite "A Lovely Cheese Pizza Just For Me" from the movie "Home Alone" when we get a pizza there! It sure is a treat! Their stromboli are excellent and my favorite is the pizzaburger grinder. Simply delicious!

Very, very good local pizza and sub shop on mains street in Red Lion. The bread is made fresh for subs and its a nice, light bread. Not too big, not too small. I ordered the Italian sub and it was perfect in all areas AND mayo was not used (the owners were aghast that mayo would even be considered, so that is a good sign!). My co-pilot ordered the chicken cheese steak w/no onions and it was done to perfection--finely chopped chicken with the right amount of cheese and an extra aide of marina sauce. To top it off, we shared a homemade cannoli and it was very nice as well. I liked their business philosophy so much, i included a photo of it! Enjoy!

Good local pizza place. Their homemade rolls are very good. I had a toasted Italian sub but the cheese wasn't melted and the meat was still cold; will ask to do it longer next time and will request a little oil & vinegar since it needed some more flavor. The French fries were tasty & the meal combo w/ a soda was reasonable at $7.75. I'll continue to support this local family; they said they've been there for 35 years!

What can I say about this pizza shop? I've never really had a complaint about anything here! They always greet me with a smile and it's always a joy to go in for a fresh hot pizza or a well portioned salad, for example! However, the thing I like the most about this pizza shop is their fresh baked bread and their Gourmet Central Pizza! All the pricing is very reasonable and it all goes well with a large cold root beer! Not being in the area for awhile is the thing that bugs me the most. When I moved away from the area I always missed Central Pizza the most! All the other pizza shops in my new area compare nothing to the amazingness that Central Pizza has. The thing that made Central so special for me is the positive relationships I made with the friendly staff that always made it a joy for me to pick up my food! However, I make sure to stop back up in the Red Lion area at least twice a month to give my loyal service to Central!

Best pizza by far in the area. I will go here over and over. It takes a bit to get your food but you can't rush that deliciousness. The place is kid friendly also with a toy area. I will continue to support the small mom and pop places like this.

If you're not looking for it you might pass it, and that would be a shame because you would be missing out on the best food in Red Lion. Central Pizza is unassuming, but don't be fooled. The food is awesome! And I mean food, as in more than pizza. Now don't get me wrong - the pizza is fabulous (my favorite is the white pizza with broccoli, ham and onions). The dough is made fresh every day (as is the bread). The crust is thin and flavorful. And the sauce, if you get red pizza, is made right in the back - nothing from a jar. The dinners are great, too. You might not be inclined to order a dinner in an establishment that doesn't scream "We're trendy, we're hip, and you're gonna pay for it!" but you'd be doing yourself a disservice. For example, try Sabrina's favorite (named after the owner's daughter). It has sauteed chicken breast, sun-dried tomatoes, basil, parmesian cheese in a white wine sauce with penne pasta. Or, you might like baked crab spaghetti - that's lump crab in a creamy sauce tossed with spaghetti, topped with provolone cheese and baked in the oven. Awesome! This is a family style place in the truest sense of the word. Central Pizza has been in the family for 30 years, and they welcome your family too! Adults can enjoy a real meal while the kids eat pizza or something off the kid's menu. And no worry if they get antsy waiting for their food - there's a corner dedicated to kids with toys and books. So what are you waiting for? Grab your car keys, round up the kids, and enjoy a great meal out!

Great little pizza and sub shop. Been here twice and everything my family has had has been great. Awesome salads which is unexpected for a pizza joint. If you get one, count on sharing or taking half home. Great NY style pie that the kids loved. The staff and owner are very friendly. If you are in the area, this is a wonderful stop for Italian.

I now live in DC but I've been known to drive 2.5 hours for a slice, a ham/cheese/capicolla, and a mixed basket (pretty much just for the cauliflower). I'm getting ready to make a run up to Ski Roundtop (right now) for a snowboarding session and I was doing a search for Central Pizza's hours. Them fools need a website! It's gonna add about 1hr15min total to my commute, but it's gonna be worth it! The pizza is Grade-A New York style...very thin and chewy crust. Very greasy cheese and heavily dolloped with sauce. The mixed basket is a must-try. The cauliflower has a tiny seam of cheddar around it, beneath the fried crust. I order fried cauliflower any chance I get, and I've never had it as good as at Central. The fried shrooms are also quite good, though replicable. And the cheesestix are very good in comparison to most of what's out there, but for the BEST cheesestix known to man, just walk around the block to Golden Crust (that's what they were called up until at least 1998). The subs are the real treats at Central Pizza. I always go with a cold-cut Italian (usually the ham/cheese/capicolla), but if I'm feeling like a true fat-neck, I'll get an oven grinder to take home. The hot ham n cheese is my fave, but the tuna boat is ridiculous (topped with provolone) too. The cheesesteaks ain't bad, but its the other sandwiches that really shine here. These guys are, or at least were, 1st generation Italians who import a lot of their ingredients. I know this because when I was kid, we used to go to their house (which was a friggin mansion by York standards in the early 90's....had 3 decks, a bigass pool, a palm tree inside the house) and hang out with the wife and kids...I forget why, I think my mom was her friend or something. Anyhoo, the owners are very good people and even better cooks. They take pride in doing things the traditional, time-honored way of their ancestors. You won't see MSG, or pre-made tomato sauce, or store-bought rolls. This stuff is authentic. And delicious. The reason why it's so good, is because Central Pizza slaps it's own sandwich dough right in front of you. Yeah, Subway makes rolls everyday too, but they suck balls. Central makes AWESOME bread, so crusty it's almost hurtful to chomp down too fast or too vigorous. But then still chewy and soft underneath. I'm tellin' ya'll, try getting a good sandwich ANYWHERE outside of Pennsylvania. It's really tough. Forget about cheesesteaks and italians. No one does the bread right; it's always too fluffy or too chewy, never crusty or too dry. I've read that the mineral content of PA water gives the bread an advantage. I'd believe that... Alright, got carried away, I've got some driving to do if I'm gonna catch any natural snow (and still have time for 2 sandwiches, a slice, and some fried stuff)... If you live near Red Lion, or pass near York, PA (there's another Central in York), you owe it to yourself to get some cheap and authentic Italian sandwiches and pizza.

So, I really wanted to review some places while I was home this past weekend. The problem is, I didn't really leave the house, like, at all. Well, I went to Target, but that doesn't count. (And if you say "Tarzhay", you are dead to me. Dead.) Instead of trying out the new, hip places in Central PA, I chose to drink two bottles of Prosecco with my mother and watch such quality films as "Hocus Pocus" and "Final Destination 2: The One With All The Head Injuries". ANYWAY. Since I got nothing, I'll just wax all hackneyed-nostalgic about Central Pizza. This place was like the Peach Pit for my high school friends and me. The pizza is greasy and most delicious with a pitcher of Cherry Coke. The breaded cauliflower is best thing you can do to a vegetable. We would languish in the window booth for hours until greasy napkin wads accumulated like tribbles and the staff would start giving us the stink-eye. I still think it's the best pizza you can get in Red Lion. A noble honor indeed.

In the category of pizza, sandwiches and subs, this place is definitely 5 star. I was a convert the first time there when I discovered my steak and cheese sub had a homemade sub roll. I had ordered a lunch special which included a sub sandwich of my choice, a drink, and a salad for 7.29! Wow! So to find a homemade sub roll was all the more unbelievable and this is a great sub roll--it has just the right texture for savoring each and every bite. The salad is almost a meal unto itself; it comes with romaine lettuce, tomatoes, onions, olives and italian meats and cheeses. I usually get the caesar or house dressing on the side. Since the sub is of such a generous portion, I usually have them box it right there so that I can take it home for a light meal later on. Having grown up in NYC with its wonderful pizza, I can safely say I know good pizza and this place has it! A lot of the pizza made in NYC is made by Sicilians and the owners of Central Pizza are also from Sicily. It is a thin crust pizza with a fabulous sauce; this sauce doesn't have that oversweet, institutionalized taste most pizzas have, an indication it is homemade. The service is worth mentioning. Despite being a fast food environment, it doesn't really seem that way. Someone delivers the food right to your table, and then clears the table away. Everyone seems to be known by name and there is a steady stream of regular customers that frequent this establishment. One day I was there and some free homemade cookies were at the counter for the taking. Delish! It's little pleasantries like a homemade cookie that differentiate this place from its competition. I feel extremely lucky to have such a great pizzaria so close to where I live.

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
